The SAWD can be programmed with up to 8 audio warning or information messages. Each of these messages can be triggered by a normally open or normally closed source. When the message is triggered it is played back via the on-board SPK connection to a connected speaker (min. 8 ohms) and the line out connection, which can be connected to an external audio system. A corresponding output is also opened for switching of an external device, such as an information panel. Each message can be programmed by using the on-board microphone, or recorded from an external source via the line input connector. The sample rate of the speech chip can be adjusted to give a maximum record time of 60 seconds, at the expense of decreasing the quality of audio recorded. The messages can be configured to repeat up to 4 times. Messages can also be prefixed with an alarm or doorbell tone to gain attention. Custom prefix sounds may also be available on request. The SAWD requires a 12-28v DC supply.
